The Southwest

We began the first leg of our journey before the rooster crowed in Huntington Beach. Our route today took us through Blythe, Phoenix/Tempe, Tucson, and Las Cruces via the 10 fwy. We saw Heidi and Maximus in Blythe. We ate at Forefathers Cheesesteak in Tempe. A highlight of the day for Jessica was seeing "The Thing" just outside Benson, AZ. New Mexico welcomed us with a huge storm that stayed with us for a few hundred miles. Arriving in Las Cruces 14 hours after we began the day, we dined at the famous La Posta Restaurant. Very good mexican food served out of a centuries old adobe building that was once home to Billy the Kid, Kit Carson, and Pancho Villa. Friday will see a short drive to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Temps are expected in the triple digits. Welcome to the Southwest. Till next time...

Hi guys,

I'm sure you are both a little "batty" after today's excursion.

Love Dad & Tracy

p.s. We have been in contact with Mission Control in Houston and you should have a soft landing.

Hi Guys!
Looks like a good time is being had by all! My curiosity is getting the best of me.......what exactly is "The Thing"???? Whatever it is, it was a bargain to view! I say it is money very well spent! Hope you took pics!
Love you both! Love, J and C
